Shihan Wayne Mello has attained a 7th degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. He began his training in the late 1970's under the instruction of Hanshi John Almeida and continues to train, instruct and compete today. Shihan Mello is the Vice President of Almeida's International Karate Association (A.I.K.A.). He is a member of IPPONE and is widely known throughout the Professional Karate Circuit. Shihan Mello has competed in many National as well as International Karate Tournaments and holds numerous impressive titles. He currently owns and operates Mello's Martial Arts Center in Oxford, MA. He is also the promoter of the Worcester Classic Karate Championship held annually in Worcester, MA. Shihan Wayne Mello is a highly respected Martial Artist, believed to be one of the most knowledgeable individuals regarding the art of Shotokan Karate.

Sensei DJ Oleski


Sensei DJ began his martial arts training under Shihan Wayne Mello in 1992 at the age of 6 years old.
After years of hard work and dedication to the art he loves, Sensei attained the level of 3rd degree Black Belt in 2009.
Now, age 24, Sensei DJ is a respected teacher under Shihan Mello. While working his full time job and training to be a police officer, Sensei DJ is still taking the time to train many times a week and to teach the juniors classes at at the dojo as well
. Sensei DJ has followed Shihan Mello through the IPPONE tournament circuit and also traveled as far as Las Vegas, NV. to compete on the National Karate Circuit. He holds a number of first place titles within the IPPONE circuit and continues to compete today.
Sensei Lisa Mello


Sensei Lisa Mello is an instructor at MMAC as well as a student. She has been  married to Shihan for over 20 years. Sensei Lisa began her training in 1993 and received her Black Belt in 1998.She is currently a 3rd degree Black Belt.
In 2001 Sensei Lisa was inducted into the I.P.P.O.N.E. Hall of Fame for her participation and sportsmanship involved with tournaments and the martial arts. Sensei Lisa continues to be involved in the tournament circuit today as a judge, promoter, and quite often the voice behind the National Anthem.
Sensei firmly believes that with karate training, like anything else in life, you get out of it what you put in to it.

Sensei Wade Martin

Sensei Wade Martin was born in Eastern Canada. At the age of 4 he fell in love with and began playing hockey. In 1989 after immigrating to the U.S. Sensei began his training in Shotokan Karate with the NAKF.
In 1995 Sensei Wade achieved the level of Shodan. Since this time he has had the privilege of competing in New England, Las Vegas, Canada and the Azores. In 2006 Sensei Wade became a 3rd degree Black Belt. Today, he is one step away from his 4th degree.
Sensei believes in family, friends, hard work and hard training. He attributes all that he has achieved in his adult life directly to his training in martial arts. Sensei Wade is forever grateful to Shihan Mello and Hanshi Almeida for everything they have done to help him achieve his successes in life.
